Tallies

A performing art piece I started a while ago and continuing on paper. It started out as a way to put some of the social comparision theory into daily perspective. How to numerically and visually turn around those comparisions unconsciously made in the advent of facebook.

By tallying, I fill a given space, taking down the time and total number of tallies I create. Then compare these numbers to a given population or other significant statistics, hoping to provide a tangible context. Stay tuned.

Motion Capture / Animation

It's a long road to capture, clean, create, and rig it a character into completed work. And from the three years I was a motion capture technician, I acquired plenty of footage. From this, I have an ongoing project to create a few animated shorts.

Microscopy

Being so close to the ocean, you'd think I would have found the elusive and elaborate heterotardigrades (marine species), but so far in my search have only found the 'typical' terrestrial tardigrades of New Zealand.

Meanwhile, I'm gaining experience using my new macro setup by cataloging fern spores and sori.

Other

My notebook seems only to swell and never diminish. Here's list of other projects on the way:

• Programming - I began and continue to learn Python since 2014. I've also dabbled with C+, C, Javascript, Matlab, and PHP in an attempt to generate a completed application or game.
• Performance Art - Banding together with a few friends to express works of abandonware and uselessness. Keys that don't go to anything. Music that has been composed but never played.
• Scripts - Writing and re-writing stories to empathize and understand human processes of identitiy building, forgiveness, and acceptance. Other times I write silly things that would pit together two actors that could pass for siblings.
• Community Art - Read, Set, Art! A weekly online prompt/competition that gives artists a task and deadline.
