A performing art piece I started a while ago and continuing on paper. It started out as a way to put some of the social comparision theory into daily perspective. How to numerically and visually turn around those comparisions unconsciously made in the advent of facebook.
By tallying, I fill a given space, taking down the time and total number of tallies I create. Then compare these numbers to a given population or other significant statistics, hoping to provide a tangible context. Stay tuned.
It's a long road to capture, clean, create, and rig it a character into completed work. And from the three years I was a motion capture technician, I acquired plenty of footage. From this, I have an ongoing project to create a few animated shorts.
Being so close to the ocean, you'd think I would have found the elusive and elaborate heterotardigrades (marine species), but so far in my search have only found the 'typical' terrestrial tardigrades of New Zealand.
Meanwhile, I'm gaining experience using my new macro setup by cataloging fern spores and sori.
